About CIME

TRADITION & INNOVATION SINCE 1952

CIME is a leading manufacturer of induction melting systems with a long tradition of excellence in the metallurgical industry.

oUR vISION

To be the global reference in induction melting and pouring technology, recognized for innovation, reliability, and excellence — with a strong commitment to supporting our customers through every phase of their journey.

OUR MISSION

To provide cutting-edge induction melting and pouring technology that enhances the productivity, efficiency, and sustainability of foundries worldwide — while maintaining the highest standards of quality, service, and customer care at every stage of the process.

OUR HISTORY

For over 70 years, CIME has established itself as a leader in the design and manufacturing of induction furnaces for the melting and pouring of metals, with a particular specialization in cast iron.

1952

a small workshop with a big vision

Giuseppe Crescenzi founds CRESCENZI INDUCTION FURNACE specializing in coreless electonic furnaces for metal melting. The first induction furnace marks the beginning of a long journey into the world of foundry.

1962

from italy to the world

CIME grows rapidly, becoming a trusted designer and manufacturer of induction furnaces across Italy and abroad — starting with France and the UK, expanding outside Europe in 1968 to Russia, and later in the 1970s to Brazil and South Africa.

1976

the cap is born

CIME develops and patents the CAP, the world’s first coreless induction furnace for pouring, featuring an elliptical coil – a revolutionary step in molten metal handling.

1979

the first u.h.e. melting system

We introduce the Ultra High Efficiency (U.H.E) melting system, dewsigned to reduce energy consuption, improve insulation, lower maintenance consts, and provide a solid structure.

1980

the world discover the cap

Thanks to the success of the CAP system, CIME enters new international markets, becoming a global reference in pouring technology

1996

A Step Forward in Power Electronics

Until 1996, our furnaces were powered by electromechanical converters. That year marked a major leap forward, as we developed our first 2.5 MW furnace equipped with a medium-frequency electronic converter, enabling greater energy efficiency, precision, and control. This innovation set new standards in furnace performance.

2000

5 MW Thyristor Technology

We launched a new generation of 5 MW induction furnaces powered by more advanced thyristor converters. This milestone confirmed our leadership in scalable, high-performance melting solutions for the foundry sector.

2005

BRUSHLESS AUTOMATIC POURING TECHNOLOGY

We upgraded the CAP pouring furnace with brushless technology for the plug and an SPS (Self Pouring System), enabling fully automatic and precise pouring management to completely avoid overflow and even reduce the sprue cup filling level

2010

THE IGBT ERA BEGINS

We delivered our first IGBT-based converter introducing greater energy efficiency, stability, and control to induction melting. This technology laid the foundation for the next evolution of furnace power electronics.

2012

CIME TANDEM SYSTEM IS DEVELOPED

Thanks to the TANDEM SYSTEM, two furnaces can now be powered by a single medium-frequency converter, which allows dynamic power distribution between the two — from 0% to 100% — depending on operational needs

2018

NEW GENERATION OF POWER

We launched our most powerful system: an 8 MW induction furnace with a UHP (Ultra High Power) melting unit, designed to ensure maximum robustness, stability, and zero vibrations even at high power levels.

today

designing the future at 12mw

With over 700 furnaces installed worldwide, we are now working on the next big step: the development of a 12 MW induction furnace, designed for the foundries of the future.
